Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (English: Taarak Mehta's Upside Down Glasses) is an Indian sitcom that airs on SAB TV. The show first aired on July 28, 2008 and is produced by Neela Telefilms. The show and its title are based on the column Duniya Ne Oondha Chashmah (Gujarati: દુનિયાને ઉંધા ચશ્મા) which loosely translates to "Seeing The World Through Upside-Down Glasses" written by columnist and journalist Taarak Mehta for the Gujarati weekly magazine Chitralekha.
In August 2010, the show beat Colors TV's popular serial Balika Vadhu. It has often been noted for its frequent references to issues of social importance in the country and its positive approach towards the problems faced by the society. Lauded performances by its lead and supporting actors alike have also contributed in making the show a success. On June 22, 2012, the show completed 900 episodes thus becoming the longest running daily comedy show of all time on Indian television and on November 6, 2012 it completed 1000 episodes.
The serial's producer Asit Modi spend lot of money on the construction of sets. The outer set is made of wooden planks and the inner sets are located at different studios in the Dadasaheb Phalke Filmcity.^[6] In March 2012, the set was renovated.

In December,2012 & January,2013, there was big long track of Gulabo & with this track they created another history,show gets highest TRPs & on no. 01 position in week no. 03 of 2013 in all Indian television GEC.The show was completed 4.5 years on January 28,2013 also & still no. 01 in Indian Television.
