to choose from. Bitdefender, the well-known security software provider,
has just released a free edition of Bitdefender Antivirus for Windows.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition sports a beautiful and clutter-free interface, and offers all the security features you would expect from a good antivirus program. To start with, this free antivirus comes with the same antivirus technology included in Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 software.
It also packs-in features such as real-time shield, active virus control, anti-rootkit, HTTP scanning, and intrusion detection system. B-Have, a new technology based on behavioral analysis,
helps to reduce the dependency on virus signature. Bitdefender
Antivirus Free also comes with smart scan technology which skips files
that have been scanned in the past.
This edition of Bitdefender scans your system at boot time to improve virus detection
at system startup. Probably the best thing about the program is that it
doesn’t require any configuration and doesn’t request input from you.
When running, a tiny Bitdefender icon appears in the system tray. Click
on the icon to view options to turn on or turn off antivirus protection, enable or disable auto scan.
To
View quarantined files, click the logs button that appears when you
click on the Bitdefender icon in the tray and then click Quarantined
Files button.
Other
than above mentioned features, the best thing about this free antivirus
software is that it doesn’t include any toolbars and doesn’t show
advertisements, unlike most free antivirus programs.
