It runs on Intel Core i5 vPro processor, which clocks up to 2.8GHz with 4GB RAM. One has the option to expand the RAM to 8GB. Toughbook CF-C2 comes with Windows 8 pre-loaded on it.
One has the option of choosing 9-cell, 6-cell and 3-cell battery with this computing device. The standard 6-cell battery delivers approximately 11 hours operation, the 3-cell smart battery about 5 hours and the 9-cell high approximately 15 hours of use.
For connectivity, Toughbook CF-C2 comes with GPS, and Bluetooth 4.0, Wireless LAN a/b/g/n and optional Sierra MC8305 3G module. One also has an option to add NFC to this Toughbook.
In terms of durability, Panasonic is vouching that Toughbook CF-C2 can withstand drops of up to 76cm (6angles), comes with a water resistant keyboard and touchpad and strengthened glass on the LCD.
According to the company, the Toughbook CF-C2 is designed keeping in mind consumers who are always on the go and need to multi-task and require multiple ways to input data.

In the category of semi-ruggedised Toughbooks, Panasonic is also offering CF-53 which comes with Windows 7 Professional pre-loaded.
