German luxury car maker BMW has launched its all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe in diesel variant, priced at Rs 86.40 lakh (all-India ex-showroom), in the domestic market.

The four-door Gran Coupe has been made available at all the BMW dealerships in India as a completely built unit (CBU), BMW Group India president Philipp von Sahr said at the launch.

"BMW has reinvented the coupe, creating a four-door car with irresistible dynamics and aesthetics. It has achieved an unusual synergy between pioneering design, uncompromising sportiness and exclusive elegance," Philipp von Sahr said.
The latest offering from the German auto maker has features such as twin power turbo diesel engine and eight-speed sport automatic transmission with cruise control. The coupe has a top speed of 250 km per hour.
The coupe is powered by BMW's TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine, which, with its two turbochargers, Valvetronic, double-Vanos and High Precision Injection, is capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. It has maximum torque of 650 Nm, and is equipped with Auto Start Stop function and other BMW EfficientDynamics measures.
Like many of its counterparts, the Gran Coupe has a long bonnet, a curved body and a broad rear with adaptive LED headlights. Its third brake light extends across the entire width of the spoiler.
The new BMW comes with a free-standing, 10.2-inch control display along with the standard professional navigation system. According to the car maker, the designers drew their inspiration for the cockpit from exclusive motorboats.
The seats are furnished with high-quality Dakota Nappa leather trim, in sync with the leather-coated instrument panel, the central console and the upper sections of the door trim and side panels. BMW also offers special wood or aluminium trim options.
The 6 Series Gran Coupé comes with an option of Bang and Olufsen high-end surround sound system producing 1,200 watts of sound through 16 speakers.
The sedan also comes with a large 460-litre boot providing ample space for storing luggage. An option to fold down the rear seats and move armrests also increases the volume of the luggage compartment to 1,265 litres. The car can also accommodate travel accessories in the storage compartments in the central armrest and the drink holders in the centre console.
For enhancing comfort, BMW has provided four-zone automatic climate control and electric sunblinds for the rear windows and rear windscreen along with the ConnectedDrive system with up to five cameras.
The car also comes with night vision that is enabled with pedestrian recognition that warns the driver of any approaching danger that is not picked up by the headlights.
